Car hire is recommended and is available at the Mgarr harbour and in several villages. It is definitely visitors with cars who will get the most out of their visits.

Driving is on the left and there is a speed limit of 70 km per hour on main roads and 50 km per hour in urban areas. Both international and national driving licences are acceptable and fully comprehensive insurance is compulsory.
