Gaulos Romana

The historic Citadel in Victoria will come alive with the sights and sounds of ancient Rome during Gavlos Romana, as Legio X Fretensis is stationed on the island of Gaulos. The day will begin at 9:00 AM with the opening of the event and an inaugural parade from Independence Square to the Cathedral. A military drill follows at 10:00 am, with static displays set up in Cathedral Square until noon. Members will enjoy a traditional Roman meal from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, while visitors can explore Roman crafts and displays from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Evening activities include sentry duties from 6:00 PM to 8:00 pm and a torch parade across the Citadel from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, concluding with more displays and the closing of the event from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Gozo Museum of Archaeology will also be open free of charge from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to mark the occasion.
