At 9:30 a.m., a Solemn Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Etienne Gilson, OFM Conv., during which the Te Deum will be sung in praise to God following the Holy Communion. In the evening, at 5:15 p.m., the statue of the Immaculate Conception will be solemnly translated, accompanied by a homily delivered by Fr. Paul Darmanin, OFM Conv., with the participation of the Brotherhood members in St. Francis Square. At 5:45 p.m., the celebration will continue with the chanting of the solemn Għasar hymns and the sacramental blessing, featuring the Laudate Pueri Choir. The preacher for this service will be Fr. Ronald Vella, OFM Conv., while the celebration will be presided over by Fr. Joseph M. Ellul, O.P. The day’s liturgical program will conclude at 6:30 p.m. with a Solemn Mass celebrated by Mons. Dun Anton Teuma, accompanied by the Chorus Urbanus Choir under the direction of Maestro Dr. John Galea.
At 8:00 p.m., the St. Margaret Band Club will set off from Archbishop Pietro Pace Street, near the Conservatory, marching towards the Franciscan Church in the company of the La Stella Band. At 8:30 p.m., the La Stella Band will then accompany the statue of the Immaculate Conception on its traditional procession through the streets of the Franciscan Parish.
