Woven In Faith: Devotion, Crafts & Easter Heritage

Join us for Woven in Faith, an evocative exhibition that celebrates devotion, craftsmanship, and the rich Easter heritage of Gozo. Through clay statues, oil paintings on hand-woven canvas, intricate crochet and macramé, delicate lace, thread filigree, and traditional flowers, the works invite you into a world where faith and artistry are deeply intertwined. This exhibition offers a quiet yet powerful reflection on tradition, creativity, and the enduring beauty of handmade expression, brought together with care and reverence for cultural heritage.

Thread Filigree (Ganutell) workshops will be led by artist Alda Bugeja, offering participants a hands-on introduction to this traditional Maltese craft. Using fine wire and thread, attendees will learn the delicate techniques involved in creating intricate floral and decorative forms rooted in local devotional heritage. The workshops will be held on 28th March and 11th April, from 13:00 to 15:00, providing a unique opportunity to engage directly with an age-old craft in an authentic heritage setting.
