Il-Ħaġar Museum is pleased to announce the programme of events marking the 13th anniversary of its inauguration, and celebrating the life and legacy of the Maltese Islands’ foremost contemporary composer Joseph Vella on the 8th anniversary of his demise.
The Art Song Recital brings together distinguished performers Miriam Cauchi (soprano), Simon Abdilla Joslin (violoncello), and pianists Maria Frendo / Alex Vella Gregory (pianoforte). The programme focuses on art songs by Joseph Vella and Alex Vella Gregory, offering an intimate exploration of text, melody, and emotional expression. This recital pays tribute to Joseph Vella’s compositional voice while situating it within a living musical dialogue that bridges generations and stylistic sensibilities.
