The Emperor’s New Clothes (2001) – Feature Movie – Gozo Film Festival

We will be showing the film ’ . Filmed partly in Malta in 2001, this movie features the renowned actor Ian Holm, who among many roles, can be remembered for portraying Bilbo Baggins in the famous Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

In 1821, Napoleon Bonaparte, after six years in exile on the isle of Saint Helena, devises a plan to escape. Switching places with a lowly French deckhand, Eugene Lenormand, Napoleon aims to make his way to Paris, at which point Eugene will announce the switch, allowing Napoleon to reclaim his throne. However, the plan quickly goes awry…
