Gozo and Malta’s capital cities’ Philharmonic Bands, the La Stella Philharmonic Society of Victoria and the King’s Own Band of Valletta, will be joining forces for a spectacular and unique concert, featuring epic soundtracks from some of the most memorable films.
The concert promises to immerse audiences in an unforgettable experience, reviving some of cinema’s most cherished moments.
The relationship between the two Philharmonic Societies has a significant historical background. It is rooted in the long-standing tradition of the annual feast of St George, dating back almost a century and a half, during which the King’s Own Band performs a concert on the eve of one of Gozo’s most popular feasts, followed by a traditional massed band march with the La Stella Band.
This bond between the bands has been further strengthened since 2018, when Mro Dr John Galea was appointed Musical Director of both ensembles.
