Frank Mercieca: A Friend of Nature and Literature

A dairy foreman, Frank Mercieca was born in Victoria on the 30th August 1973. He studied in Malta, Lebanon, Estonia, Scotland and Denmark . Later in life, he dedicated himself to agriculture and the study of the Maltese language. He wrote numerous articles in local papers debating recent changes in Maltese ortography and grammar. He also wrote poetry. A key figure in St. George’s Square, Mercieca was always surrounded by an attentive group of friends debating current affairs, history, and of course, the Maltese language. He passed away on the 9th of November 2011.
