Knitting for Beginners Workshop

Are you curious about knitting and want to give it a try? Join us for our Learn to Knit: Beginner’s Workshop, perfect for anyone who’s never picked up needles — or hasn’t knitted in years.

What You’ll Learn:

In this friendly, hands-on session, we’ll guide you step by step through the essentials of knitting. You’ll start by learning how to choose the right yarns and needles, along with understanding the importance of tension in your work. We’ll then cover the basics, including how to cast on, create the knit and purl stitches, and move into simple increases and decreases to shape your project. You’ll also learn how to bind off your work neatly to give it a polished finish. Throughout the session, we’ll share helpful tips to avoid common pitfalls and keep your stitches even, so you can build confidence and enjoy your knitting journey.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have knitted a small dishcloth and gained the confidence to move on to scarves, hats, or whatever strikes your fancy.

This session is perfect for absolute beginners with no prior experience, as well as for those returning to knitting after a long break. It’s designed for anyone who wants to learn in a friendly, patient environment where personal attention is possible, thanks to the small class size. The age range is 15 and up, and all yarn and knitting needles are provided for you to take home. If you’d like, you can bring a notebook and pen to jot down notes, but that’s entirely optional.
