FAQs:
- When are official translations needed?
If you are uploading an MQRIC statement, then no official translations are needed.
- What about those currently doing a qualification?
For a candidate to be able to register in one of the above categories, their qualification must be finalised and they must have a certificate for it.
- What about those with experience and/or were trained by the employer?
For now, they have to go through the normal Skills Pass.
- Do all degrees apply? Are non-hospitality qualifications still acceptable?
Yes, all qualifications apply as long as they are full qualifications and not awards.
- Are non-EU qualifications accepted ?
No, only EU, EEA, EFTA, UK and Maltese qualifications are accepted.
- What about Maltese with a qualification?
They can register in category 3 above. However, we are undergoing some amendments on the portal which will be finalised by end of March. Consequently, it is recommended that you start gathering all the required documentation and register at the end of March.
- What about Maltese without a qualification?
They cannot register for now, however we are working on a registration for them which will be available later on this year.
- If I already have the RED Skills Pass, do I need to upskill?
The Skills Pass certificate is permanent and as such there is no need to upskill. However, there will be the ability to upskill later on this year.
- When do the certificates need to be certified as true copies?
The uploaded certificates need to be certified as true copies only when an MQRIC statement is not uploaded. Consequently, only Maltese qualifications need to be certified true copies.
