€4.5 Million Investment Into Malta Airport’s VIP Guest Terminal
Prime Minister Robert Abela has officially opened the newly refurbished Priority Guest Terminal at Malta International Airport, following a €4.5 million investment that began in 2024.
This modern facility reflects Malta’s aim to offer high-quality, innovative tourism services and strengthen its position as a destination for premium travel and global connections.
The terminal includes five private suites on the upper floor, with space to host up to 34 guests at once.
The lounge has been designed for both comfort and visual appeal, using glass features, skylights, and natural lighting to create a bright, open atmosphere while reducing the need for artificial light.
Guests are offered seasonal and locally sourced food, prepared by a dedicated chef in two on-site kitchens, ensuring a fresh and authentic dining experience.
In 2024, this exclusive service generated €6.6 million in revenue for the airport, showing growing demand for luxury travel facilities.
Prime Minister Abela said the terminal reflects the country’s values of quality over quantity and warm, Maltese hospitality.
He added that it forms part of Malta’s Vision 2050, which prioritises high-value tourism and international connectivity. “This airport plays a strategic role in our national story,” Dr Abela said.
