Any worker who works in the tourism industry in Gozo regardless of nationality, sex, race or age who has:

i. With his/her performance and his/her qualities was a role model to his/her colleagues or

ii. Through his/her performance was not only enhancing his/her place of work but was also instrumental in improving the touristic industry on Gozo or

iii. With the performance of his/her duties, was enticing confidence in a career in the tourism sector.

iv. Shown innovative and creative skills, through the performance of his/her duties.

v. Excelled in the hospitality he/she offered in terms of friendliness, helpfulness and enthusiasm.

If the person nominated is under 25 on his last birthday (of the year nominated), then this person would qualify for the Young Tourism Worker of the Year Award.

Once a person is nominated and fills up the appropriate application form, this has to be countersigned by one proposers. Preferably the proposer would be the person who nominated the nominee in the first place but this is not a requirement.

The scope of the proposaer is to limit abuse. By signing the form the proposer is certifying the genuinity of the application.

The GTA will approach the organiser or organising committee of that particular event and it is their responsibility to fill up the required forms.

There is an adjudicating board composed of a chairman and three other members who evaluate all applications and come up with the overall winners.

Their decisions is final and irrevocable.

Gozo Tourism awards Winners receive a certificate, a glass trophy amongst others. They also receive recognition and free publicity.

All nominees taking part in the Gozo Tourism Awards get a plaque for their nomination and participation in the event.

The awards are presented during a special event held during January of the following year. The date of this event will be announced by the GTA.
